Golf Gift Ideas for Beginners

Gift Ideas for Golfers
Normally I write articles that serve as tips for golf beginners to assist them to get started in and to enjoy the game of golf, but today I am writing for all those who may know someone who’s a starter in golf, and who’s maybe searching for some great gift ideas. The best golf gifts ideas for beginners are the kind of gifts that a player can truly use. Occasionally people buy gifts for a golfer that are chintzy. I’m not criticizing the golf pen sets or the golf ball racks that so many people get as presents. I love mine along with my golf coffee cup and my mixture of logo golf balls. But if you genuinely would like to get a gift for a golfing beginner, try getting them something that they can utilize out on the golf course.
Thoughtful Golf Gifts
I bring this up because the other day my wife bought me 2 really thoughtful golf gifts. When it touches on fashion I’ll acknowledge that I do not always pick the most fashionable clothes or the best quality of clothes. However, my wife does a bang-up job in picking really cool outfits and she purchased for me the new Nike Dri-FIT SP Contrast Stitch Polo shirt along with a pair of Dri-FIT Tech shorts. The shirt is a bright coral color and my golf shorts are black. I am a sucker for black! When I put on my new golf shirt and my new golf shorts I could feel the difference in quality from the outfits I normally wear. However, I must say that when it comes to golf shirts, my favorites are my ClassicCool Golf shirts from Basic Golf. You have to check them out! But the shirt my wife got me is just as awesome, since it came from her.
But that wasn’t all. My wife knew that I had been thinking about buying a magnetic ion bracelet and so she was going to get me one. But she was thumbing through my TGW.com catalog (The Golf Warehouse), and ran across the new golf glove by Callaway that has an ion-generating band built into it. It’s called the ‘Ion’, and it employs the negative ion therapy that I had been reading material about. So she bought me one of those.
Additional Gift Ideas for Golfers
So I decided to write an article about a few ideas for gifts that other people can use to acquire something decent for golf newbies or for anyone else for that matter. Here is a couple of suggestions that I’ve come up with:
Check-GO Pro, the sweet spot finder for golf balls. I cannot see any golfer not wanting to get one of these as a gift. It is used to realign the heaviest area areas of their golf balls so that they fly and roll consistently. It is cheaply priced and your golfing beginner will love it!
Trio Cable Magnetic Bracelet from Sabona. I just love the looks of this bracelet and this is the one I was going to purchase prior to my wife buying my Callaway glove with one built in.
If your golfer is a big sports fan as well as an avid golfer, consider a Team Ball Marker that can clip onto their hat or visor. Or, perhaps a divot repair tool that sports their favorite college or professional team. I have a Michigan Wolverines divot repair tool that my dad bought me and it is in my pocket for every round of golf that I play. This is a simple but cool golf gift.
Well that’s just a couple of of my suggestions for golf gift ideas for beginners. I ask you, what golf gift would be nice for the golf player in your life, starter or not?
Golf Clothing – A Beginner’s Guide To New Golfer

Article by David Potts
When selecting a new item of golf clothing you should always take into consideration the dress code or restrictions of your local golf club or course. A more obvious but sometimes overlooked factor is the expected weather conditions across the duration of the game – from a quick nine holes to a full-blown 4-day golf tournament. It is vital to remain comfortable throughout the duration of the game to maintain a consistent performance. Golf clothing should be light and comfortable with enough room to move comfortably during play. A slightly vainer factor to take into account is how you look to your contemporaries and other players on the course – if you look good, you’ll feel good and that will increase your confidence and performance on the day.Standard lines of golf clothing include trousers/shorts, shirts, sweaters, fleeces, waterproof suits and suitable headwear. The addition of high performance membrane-based materials like GolfTex by Palm Springs offer exceptional levels of breathability and lightness, with the additional benefit of longevity and the ability to dry quickly in the event of a light shower; whilst the build-up of sweat in warmer conditions can be easily prevented by wicking moisture away from the skin. Golf fashion still maintains the overriding factor in the latest designs and styles of golf clothing; in recent years the influence of other brands such as Nike and Adidas has lead to the incorporation of sporting elements in golf clothing to enhance the player’s performance on the course.Breathable Waterproof SuitsOffering exceptional levels of waterproofing and breathability these suits are designed to protect the entire body from the shoulders down from the bracing elements associated with playing golf in the United Kingdom. This item of golf clothes is lightweight and can therefore be easily stored in one of the many pockets found on the majority of today’s golf bags. The waterproof membrane used in most breathable suits is designed to repel water droplets – allowing the material to dry quickly between showers.Golf SweatersA golf sweater is highly recommended in case of sudden weather changes to provide extra warmth and protection against the wind. Golf equipment sweaters are available in a variety of materials and in a variety of styles including full length or polo-necked.Golf ShirtMost golf course dress codes require players to wear a collared shirt. Tennis shirts and button down shirts are usually acceptable, but most players opt for a cotton or micro-fibre polo shirt. Golf polo shirts can be just a simple top, or it can come with new material technologies designed to keep you cool and fit perfectly through each moment of your game.Golf TrousersWhile most clubs permit men to wear tailored golf shorts, you should check to see whether only trousers are allowed. Women’s golf dress codes usually allow for knee-length shorts or skirts.Golf HeadwearNo matter what the weather is doing or is forecast to do, some form of golf head gear is recommended. A wide brimmed hat is usually the most versatile option, providing sun protection on clear days as well as cover from rainfall during wet weather.
